About this job

Join Cetogenix, a fast-growing New Zealand climate tech company turning organic waste into renewable energy and carbon resources. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing, installing, and commissioning innovative mechanical systems as we move from pilot technology to commercial deployment.

Key Responsibilities: • Focus on detailed plant layout design, equipment specification, and mechanical integration of process systems. • Develop plant layouts, mechanical arrangements, and equipment integration for mechanical equipment, piping systems, and supporting infrastructure. • Produce detailed 3D models, fabrication drawings, piping layouts, isometrics, and bills of materials. • Support the mechanical design of process systems, ensuring compliance with relevant mechanical and piping standards. • Translate process requirements into practical, constructable mechanical designs, working closely with process engineers to ensure functional performance. • Collaborate with fabricators and engineering partners to ensure designs are buildable, cost-effective, and meet quality expectations. • Supervise fabrication and installation activities, undertake mechanical checks, and contribute to commissioning support as required. • Assist with design improvements informed by fabrication feedback and operational experience. • The role is based in Rotorua, with periodic travel required to support installation, commissioning, and performance monitoring of Ceto-Boost systems throughout New Zealand and internationally.

About You: You are a practical, detail oriented mechanical engineer with a solid grounding in industrial equipment and piping design. You enjoy turning design concepts into real, buildable plant systems and seeing your work come to life through fabrication and commissioning.

About Cetogenix: Cetogenix is a New Zealand-based climate tech company transforming organic waste into renewable natural gas, chemicals, and biomaterials through its Ceto-Boost hydrothermal oxidation platform.
