Roofer's Labourer

An exciting opportunity have become available for a Roofers labourer to join their busy team based in Lower Hutt.

You will be performing daily tasks and duties such as:

• Check to ensure that completed roofs are watertight and assist with emergency leak repairs and general roof repairs for a variety of roofing types. • Sweep and clean roofs to prepare them for new roofing materials. • Identify worn or torn areas on roofs. • Maintain tools and equipment • Cover roofs with layers of roofing felt or asphalt strips before installing materials. • Assist with removing old roof materials, remove worn damaged or torn materials from the work site as directed by the site supervisor. • Unload and load tools and materials from trucks and vans as directed. • Place tiles and nail them to the roofing boards as per instructions. • Apply sealants and other protective coatings.

Other tasks include : o Using hoists and ladders to carry materials up the roof o Clearing of drains, down pipes and gutters.
