A nationwide health care provider specializing in disability sector is looking for a Support Worker (non-complex care) to join their team in Wellington.
This Health and Disability organization provide home base rehabilitation service to those who needs, holds contracts with ACC. They are looking for a energetic, enthusiastic, forward-thinking Kaiawhina Hauora (Support Worker).
As a Support Worker, you will assist clients to live safely, and with dignity in their homes and community. Key responsibilities include:
1. Personal Care Support - assist clients with personal care tasks such as: - Showering, dressing, grooming, eating, and toileting when required. - Assisting with mobility e.g. transfers, positioning, transportation.
Provide support in a respectful, compassionate, and culturally appropriate manner.
2. Community Access & Activities - accompany clients to daytime activities, including: - Library visits - Grocery shopping - Swimming or other recreational outings
Support clients to engage confidently with their community and maintain independence.
3. Household Support - assist with light household tasks such as: - Meal preparation and basic cooking - Dishwashing - General cleaning and tidying
You will use your own vehicle for work-related travel, and a mileage allowance will be provided.
Weekly hours between 25 - 30 hours per week. This position starts as casual, with potential to become permanent. Training provided.
Job Requirements
- Passionate about what you do to support those in need - Must pass MOJ - Must pass police vetting check - Must pass Children's Worker Safety Check - Must be able to pass a drug test - Must be flexible for different working hours and location - Physically fit - Open to learn new skills - Must have your own vehicle and a minimum of a restricted licence
