An Education Charitable Trust at Airport Precinct is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Work Experience Coordinator. This is a fixed-term role (12 months, subject to funding renewal).
Key Responsibilities
Programme Coordination Develop and deliver a structured work experience programme for students across the six schools. Liaise with school career leads, teachers, and students to identify appropriate placements. Engage employers in the airport precinct to create diverse and meaningful work experience opportunities. Match students to placements based on career aspirations, skills, and employer requirements. Ensure all health & safety, risk assessments, and legal compliance (including child safety and insurance) are completed prior to placements.
Student Support & Engagement Provide orientation and preparation sessions for students before placements. Support students during their work experience to ensure a positive and safe environment. Act as the first point of contact for student and employer issues during placements. Facilitate post-placement debriefs and reflection sessions to capture learning outcomes.
Employer & School Engagement Build and maintain strong relationships with employers in the airport precinct. Work with employers to design relevant, structured, and safe work experience opportunities. Coordinate with school staff to align placements with career education goals and curriculum requirements. Promote the programme within schools and communities.
Administration & Reporting Maintain accurate records of placements, student progress, and employer engagement. Collect and analyse feedback from students, schools, and employers to continuously improve the programme. Provide regular reports to the Hub Manager and funding schools.
Key Performance Indicators 1. Programme Delivery X number of students placed annually. At least 90% of placements meet compliance and safety requirements. At least 80% of employers and students report a positive experience. 2. Employer Engagement Minimum of X new employers engaged per term. 70% of employers provide repeat placements. 3. Student Outcomes 80% of students demonstrate improved understanding of career pathways (measured through surveys/reflection). Track and report student transitions into further training, apprenticeships, or employment. 4. Stakeholder Satisfaction Positive feedback from all six partner schools (minimum 80% satisfaction rating). Quarterly progress reports delivered on time to schools and Hub Manager. 5. Continuous Improvement Annual review of programme with recommendations for development. Evidence of programme innovation and alignment with school and industry needs.

Job Requirements
Essential: Experience in youth engagement, careers education, or workforce development. Strong organisational and relationship management skills. Knowledge of secondary education systems and youth transitions into employment. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple stakeholders. Must be able to pass all pre-employment checks. Full driver license and reliable transport.
Desirable: Familiarity with industries operating in the Auckland Airport precinct. Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and ability to work effectively with Maori and Pacific communities. Previous experience in health & safety coordination for work placements.
