Dairy Farm Assistant
About this job
To be successful in this role you must be drug free, honest, and reliable, as early morning starts are required and you must have a passion for animals. Tasks include milking 1100 cows in both the AM and PM milkings, and completing weed control between milkings. After training you will need to correctly erect electric fences and ride a 2 wheel motor bike. Other tasks include but are not limited to cleaning the dairy shed, cleaning water troughs, and eventually receiving training for effluent management and drenching of young stock. A flexible and changing roster will run throughout the season. Pay will be an hourly rate between $25 - $30 depending on experience. Minimum hours are 30 per week and maximum hours are 55 per week. Hours are season dependent with average hours being 35 - 40 per week across an entire season. Please state if you are a NZ resident or if you have a current visa that allows you to work in NZ.
