General Hand – Solar Farm Construction Project (Ruakaka)

An exciting opportunity is available for General Hands to join a large-scale solar farm construction project in Ruakaka.

This role supports day-to-day site operations and involves hands-on work across a variety of construction activities. We are seeking reliable, safety-focused individuals who can work well within a team, follow instructions, and contribute to maintaining a safe and productive worksite.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with site preparation, assembly, and installation of materials Perform manual labour tasks including lifting, carrying, drilling. Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision Assist with the safe movement and handling of materials around site Participate in toolbox meetings and follow all site procedures Maintain high standards of health, safety, and PPE compliance.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a major renewable energy project in Northland, supporting the development of the Ruakaka Solar Farm and New Zealand’s transition to sustainable energy.

Minimum Requirements (Mandatory) Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered for shortlisting:

Minimum Restricted Class 1 Driver Licence and be able to reliably travel to Ruakaka. Be physically fit and capable of performing manual labour, including frequent walking, repetitive bending and lifting. Be willing and able to work in all weather conditions. Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and effective time management Have a strong work ethic with the ability to follow instructions and work well within a team. Be willing and able to pass a pre-employment drug test (site operates a strict drug and alcohol-free policy). Willing to disclose any criminal convictions (assessed on a case-by-case basis). Provide an up-to-date CV with contactable referees.

Preferred Experience (Advantageous but Not Essential) The following experience or qualifications will be beneficial but are not required as training/ upskilling opportunities available to obtain:

Working at Heights certification Elevated Work Platform (EWP) licence First Aid Use of basic power tools
