In this dynamic and people-focused role, you will work alongside individuals serving community-based sentences, supporting them to make meaningful, lasting changes in their lives. You’ll build strong, respectful relationships, hold people accountable, and guide them toward better outcomes—while always upholding their mana and dignity. Your work will include engaging directly with individuals and their whanau, assessing risks and needs, and preparing professional reports for the Courts and Parole Board.
Guided by kaupapa Maori values such as manaaki, kaitiaki, wairua, rangatira, and whanau, you’ll contribute to a system that prioritises wellbeing, rehabilitation, and long-term change.
What You’ll Be Doing - Managing a caseload of individuals on community-based sentences and orders - Building trusted relationships that support positive behaviour change - Assessing risks, needs, and progress using structured tools and sound judgement - Preparing high-quality written reports for the Courts and Parole Board - Working closely with whanau, community providers, and partner agencies - Encouraging accountability while supporting rehabilitation and reintegration - Playing a key role in reducing reoffending and improving public safety

You’ll stand out if you have: - Experience working in a kaupapa Maori or Pasifika environment - Cultural awareness and a genuine willingness to learn and grow - Experience in social services, justice, education, health, or community work
