Production Chef- Queenstown

An airline catering company are currently recruiting for a qualified and experienced bulk catering production chef with skills in high volume kitchens.
In this role, your day-to-day responsibilities will include: production outcomes - meet the on-time and to specification performance for your team's production;. food safety and quality - ensuring all items produced meet the requirements of the food safety program and the customer's specification; labour utilisation - ensuring that the team is optimised to deliver the outputs within the labour budget; staff development - leading, coaching, and training staff under your direction to ensure ongoing skill development materials utilisation - ensuring that product wastage (from raw ingredient to finished item) is minimised and fully accounted for health and safety - ensuring the team adhere to our health and safety processes and actively involving yourself in health and safety management menu development - you will have input to the creation and development of specific menu items under the direction of our Menu Development Chef and Executive Chef

Job Requirements
5 or more years' experience in large-scale catering kitchens. You will be able to demonstrate strong skills in western and/or east Asian food styles. You will be a strong, practical chef who not only enjoys working in a team but also enjoys working in a section producing high quality food for our clients. You will have great communication skills in both written and spoken English. You will also have a qualification in culinary skills that meets or exceeds the requirements of the NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Culinary Skills or City and Guilds 7100 Level 3 Diploma). Ability to work rostered shifts Monday to Sunday, including weekends (5 days per week) Clean MOJ / Police record Two contactable work references from previous employers Full driver licence preferred due to operational hours; reliable transport is essential
