Generalist Operator-Planting Operations

We’re looking for a capable and motivated Generalist Operator to join our team, with a primary focus on planting operations. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with machinery, being outdoors, and contributing to a busy and productive farming operation.

You’ll spend much of your time operating modern planting equipment, while also supporting other farm operations as needed throughout the season.

About the Role • Full-time position – 45 hours per week • Hours may flex upwards during peak seasonal periods • Rostered 5 days over 7, including some weekend work • A practical, hands-on role working across a range of farm tasks

Key Responsibilities • Operate a modern transplanter and tractor-mounted planter • Carry out planting operations safely and efficiently • Assist with crop maintenance activities as required • Support harvesting operations during busy periods • Undertake general farm duties and operational tasks as needed • Ensure machinery is operated safely and maintained appropriately • Work closely with the team to meet production targets and daily priorities

What We’re Looking For • Previous experience operating tractors and farm machinery • Full New Zealand driver’s licence • Strong work ethic and a positive, practical approach to work • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions • Physically fit and capable of manual tasks when required • Good mechanical knowledge and care for equipment • Able to work independently and as part of a team • Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions • Flexible and willing to assist across different areas of the farm
