About this job
Seeking a reliable and safety-focused Class 4 Truck Driver to join our team. This role involves the safe transportation of goods and materials while maintaining high standards of vehicle care, safety, and operational efficiency.
This is a floater shift role, which involves travelling between Auckland, Hamilton, and Tauranga transporting concrete and related materials according to the operational roster. The role may require staying out of town for up to 6 consecutive days at a time, therefore applicants must be flexible with their availability and willing to travel regularly.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for: - Operating the truck safely at all times while complying with the company Health and Safety policies and procedures - Manoeuvring vehicles into position for loading and unloading - Loading and unloading vehicles using lifting and tipping devices where required - Observing safety requirements during loading and unloading activities - Estimating weights to comply with load limitations and ensuring safe distribution of weight - Ensuring goods are properly stowed and securely covered to prevent loss or damage during transit - Verifying loading documents, checking the condition of goods, and obtaining certification and signatures for completed deliveries - Performing pre-start vehicle inspections at the beginning of each shift, including checking and topping up coolant, oil, brake fluid, and washer fluid, and inspecting tyres - Conducting regular checks of the vehicle to ensure it can be driven safely and reporting any faults or concerns - Completing all assigned jobs efficiently, accurately, and safely to avoid damage to property, goods, or vehicles - Maintaining trucks to a high standard, including cleanliness and general upkeep - Immediately reporting any damage, mechanical issues, poor vehicle performance, or safety concerns to the Director or Supervisor and completing incident reports where required - Attending all required training sessions, inductions, and health and safety meetings - Travelling between Auckland, Hamilton, and Tauranga as required by the roster and operational needs

Job Requirements
Applicants must:
- Hold a valid New Zealand Class 4 Driver Licence or equivalent that can be converted to a New Zealand licence - Have at least 1 year of relevant truck driving experience - Demonstrate knowledge of safe loading, transport, and road safety practices - Be physically fit and able to assist with loading and unloading if required - Be flexible with working hours and able to stay out of town for extended periods (up to 6 days at a time) - Have good communication and time management skills - Be able to pass drug and alcohol testing if required
