Experienced Barista

A reputable and popular cafe in Mt Wellington is seeking an experienced Barista to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Prepare and serve high-quality espresso-based coffee and beverages consistently. • Grind, dose, and extract coffee while maintaining proper calibration and quality standards. • Provide friendly and efficient customer service while taking and processing orders. • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee station, equipment, and service areas. • Monitor stock levels for coffee, milk, and supplies and assist with restocking as required. • Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are followed. • Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining quality and consistency. • Assist with general cafe duties including clearing tables, basic food service, and supporting the team when needed.

Must have a minimum 2 years’ recent barista experience with a friendly, people-focused personality

Must have the ability to travel to work independently and reliably

Must have strong barista skills with confidence in coffee preparation

Excellent customer service skills strong awareness of the cafe floor during busy service

Must be capable of managing both coffee production and customer service.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and Ministry of Justice check

Must be able to work well in a small team environment.

Must maintain a calm and organised approach when working under pressure.
