About this job

A well-established timber joinery business in Silverdale is seeking a Trainee Wood Painter & Joiner to join their workshop team.

This business specialises in crafting custom timber windows and doors, handling the full process in-house — from raw timber machining and assembly through to high-quality spray finishing.

This is a hands-on, workshop-based position where you’ll be trained across both joinery and finishing.

A strong focus of the role is spray painting, so you’ll spend a good portion of your time in the spray booth preparing and coating timber products to a high standard.

Day-to-day, you’ll be involved in: - Preparing timber surfaces for finishing (sanding, filling, masking) - Spray painting windows and doors in a controlled spray booth environment - Handling paints, stains, and coatings with attention to finish quality - Assisting with the assembly of timber joinery (windows, doors, frames) - Learning to safely operate workshop machinery and tools - General workshop support to keep production running smoothly

This is a role where detail matters — the finish is just as important as the build.

- Some form of painting experience is required - Spray painting is ideal, but house painting or hands-on hobby experience will be considered - A genuine interest in hands-on, practical work - Any exposure to timber, construction, or workshop environments is a bonus - Good communication skills and clear English - Reliable, consistent, and willing to be taught - A restricted or full driver’s licence
