Health New Zealand currently seeking Booking Clerk, Patient Care Assistant, Scheduling Clerk, Clerial Administrator, Team Coordinators, and other Administration professionals to join the team at North Shore Hospital/ Waitakere Hospital. This is a great opportunity for experienced administrative professionals looking for an exciting and dynamic role within a healthcare environment.

Previous experience working with patients in a healthcare setting is preferred; however, training will be provided. Key responsibilities include scheduling outpatient clinics for Consultants and Nurse Specialists, managing waitlists, and liaising with patients who require appointments. The role also involves providing high-level administrative and diary support to senior management and clinical leaders.

You will coordinate outpatient clinic activity with Booking and Scheduling teams, including managing changes and cancellations. Additional duties include maintaining data systems, reporting, and confidential records to support service performance and Ministry of Health requirements. The role may also support recruitment, onboarding, financial administration, and continuous service improvement initiatives. Knowledge of medical terminology or other health-related skills would be an advantage.

Job Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll have: • Extensive experience in senior office administration, including working with databases, spreadsheets, and supervising staff • A solid background in the health sector, with an understanding of medical terminology and experience supporting 24/7 rostering • Advanced skills across common office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and strong organisational skills • A professional, calm, and adaptable approach, with excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team, with a commitment to ongoing development and quality service delivery
