Orchard Assistant
About this job
Main duties are fruit picking during harvest operations, other tasks as required. We will provide full training on the orchard, you must be able to commit to at least 12 weeks work of minimum 30 hours per week. Work is available for approximately 12 weeks depending on when all the picking is finished. Longer term positions considered for the right candidate. The work starting times are dependent on fruit readiness clearance and weather (the fruit needs to be dry). We sometimes work on the weekends. We have an orchard located at Coroglen as well as Whenuakite, with multiple campgrounds located in close proximity to our orchards, and both beaches & rivers just minutes away.
Job Requirements
We are looking for people that prefer working outside and can handle physical work for our kiwifruit picking season, with the option of immediate start. The fruit canopy is overhead and the work is picking above the shoulder height. Those who are most comfortable picking are 165cm or taller. Ideal applicants will be hard-working and reliable, with a can-do attitude. Own transport is a must as you will need to get to the orchard in rural location each day. Experience is not necessary - just a good work ethic.
