An East Tamaki based employer is seeking a skilled & reliable Flooring Installer to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The work locations are in North & West Auckland. You will pick up materials and the work van the East Tamaki yard before your shift starts.

There is also work available in Hamilton, the employer is open to considering candidates from Drury, Pukekohe & Papakura who are open to travel.

Duties include: - Site Preparation: Inspecting, cleaning, sweeping, scraping, and levelling subfloors (concrete, wood) to create a smooth surface. - Measurement & Planning: Measuring areas, calculating material requirements, and planning layouts for optimal fit, often in consultation with clients or architects. - Installation: Cutting, fitting, and laying vinyl sheets, planks, or tiles, applying adhesive, and ensuring proper adhesion. - Finishing: Welding seams (heat or chemical), trimming excess material, and ensuring a seamless, high-quality finish. - Repair & Removal: Removing old flooring and repairing damaged subfloors, including filling cracks or applying levelling compounds. - Tool Maintenance: Safely operating and maintaining hand/power tools (e.g., utility knives, heat guns, vinyl rollers). - Safety & Cleanliness: Following health and safety regulations (e.g., handling adhesives safely), ensuring site cleanliness, and disposing of waste. - Training: On-the-job training provided for quality standards and health & safety procedures

Job Requirements

Must have proven experience in flooring installation (2+ years) or relevant certifications/apprenticeships.

Experience with flat laying and high skirting is essential

Must be physically fit as role can be demanding and involves kneeling, lifting and bending

Strong attention to detail to ensure precise cuts and seamless, well-aligned installations.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment or liaise with clients and supervisors.

Must hold a full Class 1 driver's licence with reliable transport

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and Ministry of Justice check
