Carpenter / Maintenance Worker

We are seeking a reliable Carpentry / Maintenance Worker to carry out repairs and maintenance on Kainga Ora properties. You will initially work within a small team before progressing to a sole-charge role, travelling between properties to complete repairs.
Key Responsibilities: • Repair and plaster holes in walls • Replace doors, fixtures, and fittings • Remove and replace broken glass • Repair fences and complete general property maintenance
About the Role: This role involves working within occupied homes, so candidates must be professional, mature, and resilient. At times you may encounter tenants who are not happy about maintenance being carried out, and occasionally there may be challenging or confrontational situations. The ability to remain calm, respectful, and professional at all times is essential. While the work environment can occasionally be challenging, you will be supported by a friendly and helpful maintenance team.
What We Are Looking For: • Practical trade or maintenance skills (trade qualification not essential) • Reliable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude • Able to work independently and show initiative • Mature and resilient when dealing with tenants • Able to maintain confidentiality regarding clients and properties

Job Requirements
• Ability to show initiative and work independently • Reliable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude (most important) • Mature and resilient, with the ability to remain professional when dealing with potentially volatile clients • Able to maintain strict confidentiality, including not discussing or posting online about the clients or homes being worked in • Clean Full or Restricted Driver’s Licence required as you will be driving a work vehicle • Updated CV outlining relevant skills and experience • Must be able to pass pre-employment checks, including a Drug Test and MOJ check
