Apprentice Flooring Specialist (Applicator / Labourer) – Specialist Floor Coatings (Hamilton Based)

A leading specialist floor coatings company based in Hamilton is seeking a diligent and safety-focused Apprentice Flooring Specialist (Applicator / Labourer) to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role involving the application of specialist coating systems and site preparation.

Extensive national travel, including overnight stays, is required. Full training is provided for candidates who demonstrate strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. This role offers a potential apprenticeship pathway, with most staff supported through formal industry qualifications.

Key Responsibilities • Assist in the physical application of specialist coating systems in accordance with product specifications • Carry out diamond grinding and surface preparation • Repair cracks, holes, and damaged areas • Apply expansion joints and resin coving • Mix and apply primers and coating systems (roller and trowel application) • Perform general labouring duties including cleaning, vacuuming, and moving equipment • Maintain tools and equipment • Complete daily timesheets and required documentation • Follow all health and safety procedures and wear PPE at all times • Work flexible hours as required to meet client needs • Travel nationally, including overnight stays

Key Requirements • Experience with epoxy, resin, or polyurethane floor coatings preferred • Experience in painting, plastering, tiling, or grinding advantageous • Strong commitment to health and safety • Physically fit and capable of demanding work • Reliable, proactive, and positive attitude • Basic math, reading, and mobile device skills • Willingness to undertake training and upskilling helpful.

Job Requirements

• Must pass a drug test. • Must pass a police check. No criminal background due to work undertaken for MOJ and schools • Must have a full driver’s licence (manual preferred or willingness to learn). • Must have own transport to get to work. • Flexibility with hours of work. • Willing to travel and stay away for up to 12 days at a time. • Flexibility with hours including weekends and public holidays when required. • Able bodied and mentally stable as it is a physically demanding role involving 10-11 hour days If this sounds like you, apply now.
