Coffee Cart Lead – Waitara Taiohi Trust We are looking for an enthusiastic and community-minded leader to manage the daily operations of the Waitara Taiohi Trust Coffee Cart. This role combines high-quality coffee service, business development, and youth mentorship. You will play a key role in growing our social enterprise through community networking and digital engagement, while mentoring Taiohi youth to build their confidence, skills, and work experience.

ABOUT THE ROLE Coffee Operations & Quality Control • Prepare and serve premium coffee and beverages to a high standard • Maintain coffee equipment, including regular cleaning and basic troubleshooting • Uphold strict health, safety, and hygiene standards Business Development & Community Networking • Identify and secure new locations and event opportunities • Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, sponsors, and community groups • Represent the Trust professionally in all community interactions Social Media & Marketing • Create engaging content to promote the coffee cart and the Trust’s mission • Manage social media platforms and respond to online enquiries • Grow and engage our digital community Mentorship & Youth Development • Supervise and train Taiohi and volunteers in barista skills and customer service • Provide a supportive and encouraging environment • Help young people build confidence, employability skills, and real-world experience Administration & Finance • Manage daily cash handling, reconciliation, and POS systems • Monitor stock levels and order supplies as needed • Provide regular updates and reports to the Operations Manager

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Experience • Proven experience as a barista • Experience in sales, networking, or marketing is an advantage Skills & Attributes • Strong communication skills • Basic social media management skills • Ability to teach and mentor others • Self-motivated, reliable, and well-organised • Passionate about youth development and the Waitara community

Job Requirements

• Experience making quality coffee and delivering great customer service • Experience in sales, networking, or marketing is a bonus • Confident communicator who can build positive relationships with customers, youth, and community partners • Experience supporting or mentoring young people is highly valued • Able to pass a drug test and police vetting • Hold a full Class 1 driver licence • Updated CV showing relevant experience with at least two work referees
