Food Packer - Helensville

A local family owned and operated, Helensville based company making a range of fermented foods – sauerkraut and kimchi. As a food packer you will be responsible for - taking product from barrels and packing into glass jars. For ensuring each jar is weighed to the set amount and juice is added appropriately. - keeping work area clean & tidy and meets the work place health & safety standards. - ensuring all jars are labelled accurately & with a clear and eligible best before date. - ensuring packing area is cleaned and tidy. - stacking product onto shelves in Chiller. - helping with the daily & weekly cleaning. - completing all & any other allocated tasks to a high standard and within suitable timeframes. - ensuring the work place meets the required health & safety standards at all times. Any hazards or issues to be raised immediately with Management

As part of a small team you will be required to help with other areas of the business when needed.

We are looking for someone local with 30 minutes from Helensville, with own transport to work A fit individual to pack our fermented foods into jars. Kitchen experience would be great but it’s not essential. They must be fit and healthy comfortable on their feet all day and be capable of lifting up to 20kg’s at times.

• Experience of working in a kitchen. • Knowledge of health and safety in a kitchen. • Able to keep work area clean and tidy. • Able to follow instructions but also use initiative where appropriate. • Fit and healthy - there will be a need to move trays of up to 20kg.
