Retail Assistant
About this job
A Retail Assistant is required to assist the Retail Manager in overseeing daily store operations, stock control, product range management, pricing, shelf replenishment, assist with product purchasing and coordinating with suppliers. Other responsibilities include helping monitor daily sales, cash handling and financial transactions, supervising staff on shift, including training, task delegation and basic rostering support. The appointee will be required to ensure compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012, maintain high standards of store cleanliness, presentation, and health and safety, provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service including product advice, step in to manage the store in the Retail Manager's absence and assist with local promotion and advertising initiatives.
Job Requirements
NZQF Diploma or equivalent experience with a minimum of two years as a Retail Assistant or a similar role. LCQ preferred or willingness to obtain one. You need to be familiar with local food safety requirements. Tobacco retail compliance experience preferred.
