A NZ-owned vehicle rental company with five branches nationwide, including two in Auckland. We’re after a reliable, hands-on Mechanic to keep our fleet road-ready across the Auckland sites. • Service, diagnose and repair a mixed rental fleet (mainly Toyota) using scan tools where needed *Carry out pre-COF checks, fix defects promptly, present vehicles for COF when required • Perform standard mechanical repairs: brakes (pads/discs), CV boots, suspension bushes, cooling systems, belts, batteries, tyres • Complete routine maintenance: oil changes, tune-ups, filters, fluid checks, tyre rotations • Keep the workshop tidy; maintain organised parts and small consumables • Source parts/tyres at trade rates, raise simple quotes, and liaise with suppliers; organise outsourced jobs when needed *Provide clear updates to branch staff •Support new fleet arrivals (prep/fit-outs); pitch in at the Airport branch as required • Stable, long-term role in a growing NZ-owned company • Staff discounts on vehicle rentals • On-site parking (Airport)
Job Requirements
• 5+ years as an automotive technician (light vehicles) with strong servicing and repair capability • NZ workshop/fleet experience and familiarity with local standards (COF/Rego, safe road-tests) • solid communicator • Clean full NZ driver licence; basic computer literacy (emails, service logs, parts ordering) • Able to work some weekends (we’re a 7-day operation; summer is peak) Nice to have (not essential) • Existing relationships with local parts/tyre suppliers to help secure sharp trade pricing • Hybrid vehicle Knowledge
