Class 5 Truck Driver

A transport and logistics company is seeking an experienced Class 5 Truck Driver to join the team in Auckland. This role involves container-based freight, so strong swinglift experience is preferred.
Key Responsibilities: • Safely operate Class 5 trucks and swinglift equipment • Load, unload, and secure freight • Complete pre-trip vehicle inspections • Maintain accurate logbooks and delivery documentation • Ensure loads are legally and safely distributed • Communicate professionally with dispatch and clients • Comply with all NZ road safety regulations
Job Requirements
Mandatory • Valid Class 5 Heavy Combination Vehicle Licence • Minimum 1 year swing lift operation experience • Experience transporting containers from ports • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test • Must pass MOJ check (MOJ must be clean)
Preferred/Additional Skills: • At least 1 year experience in a similar heavy vehicle/transport role • Knowledge of port operations • Strong road safety compliance • Physically fit — able to perform loading/unloading tasks • Excellent GPS navigation and route-planning skills • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities • Reliable, punctual, and flexible for shift work • Available for occasional overnight stays • Able to work weekends and public holidays when required -The yard is based in Mangere
