This role supports the HIPPY (Home Interaction Programme for Parents and Youngsters) – a home-based early learning programme for families with children aged 2–5 years. As a Tutor, you’ll visit families in their homes (or meet virtually), showing parents how to use fun educational activities with their children to help get them ready for school.
We’re looking for someone open-minded and confident, who communicates well, builds trust easily, and loves working with people.
What you’ll be doing: - Attending training and weekly development sessions with your Coordinator - Meeting weekly with your Coordinator to talk about family progress - Visiting families regularly at home or online to deliver workbooks and guidance - Helping run monthly group meetings and encouraging parents to join in - Organising your visit schedule and keeping your Coordinator updated - Collecting short weekly progress reports from families - Keeping accurate timesheets and records - Preparing materials and activities for visits and training
What we’re looking for: - Confident meeting new people and comfortable building relationships - Warm, approachable, and a great listener - Good communication and people skills - Open-minded and respectful of different cultures and family situations - Enjoys working with families and young children - A genuine interest in Early Childhood Education - Able to read and write confidently and clearly - Comfortable using video conferencing for virtual visits

This role would be ideal for a parent returning to the workforce or for someone passionate about supporting and helping children.
Job Requirements
- Restricted (or full) driver licence - Your own reliable car with WOF, registration, and insurance - Willing to undergo a Police Check (Children’s Act requirement) - Able to provide at least two recent, contactable references - Confident in meeting new families - Good people skills and Communication Skills - Enjoys working alongside families with young children - Tech Savvy - Ability and Willingness to learn
Mileage is reimbursed at current IRD rates
Must be able to pass all pre-employment checks!!
