Daily Tasks Involved in the Role Whanau Engagement & Assessment- Act as the first point of contact to build high-trust rapport, conducting initial assessments within 5 working days of referral to ensure timely support.

Whanau Wellbeing Planning - Co-design and monitor holistic wellbeing plans every 6 weeks, ensuring they are whanau-led and reflect their specific aspirations, strengths, and cultural priorities.

Navigation & Advocacy- Proactively connect whanau to local and regional networks health, housing, justice, and education, while tracking referral outcomes to ensure no one falls through the gaps.

Cultural Practice and Integration - Uphold the values of manaakitanga and whanaungatanga, actively participating in daily morning karakia, kapa haka, wananga, and significant Ngati Hine cultural events.

Data Management and Compliance- Maintain accurate, real-time records in Whanau Tahi and NOTED systems within 48 hours of engagement, ensuring compliance with the Privacy Act 2020.

Collaborative Support- Attend regular team hui and engage with external agencies to deliver integrated, multi-disciplinary support that uplifts the wellbeing of the hapori.

Job Requirements

Years of Experience, Qualifications, Licences, Endorsements- - Qualifications- Diploma in Whanau Ora (or working towards) or a relevant degree in Social Services. - Licences- Must hold a clean, full New Zealand Driver’s Licence. - Experience- Proven experience working with communities, whanau, hapu, and iwi. - Skills- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to mediate conflict; and a strong desire/proficiency in Te Reo Maori. - Citizenship- Must be a New Zealand citizen or hold a valid NZ work visa.
