A Wairau-based employer is seeking a reliable and skilled Surface Protection Technician to join their growing team.

About the Role

In this role, you will specialise in preparing, applying, and inspecting surface protection methods. You will play a key part in ensuring surfaces remain in optimal condition, free from corrosion and other damage. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include, but are not limited to: • Completing site induction on your first visit to each worksite. • Signing in before commencing work and signing out when leaving • Preparing surfaces thoroughly prior to application • Ensuring all joinery is properly taped before applying the Protect It coating • Applying the Protect It coating carefully, avoiding air bubbles and imperfections • Inspecting completed work to ensure quality standards are met • Removing all rubbish and leftover materials from the worksite before finishing the job • Maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant work environment at all times

Job Requirements

• Physically fit and capable of manual work. • Current Site Safe ID (required). • First Aid Certificate (advantageous). • Proven building and construction experience. • Full driver’s licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle. • Flexible and willing to work overtime when required. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship. • Can pass pre-employment checks and drug test. • Have legal right to work in NZ

Days of work
Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 4pm (40 hours per week)
Pay Details
$24p/h. To be reviewed after 3 months.
