Truck Driver’s Offsider – Furniture Removalist Assistant

A local Tauranga employer is currently seeking a reliable and physically fit Truck Driver’s Offsider / Furniture Removalist Assistant to join the Tauranga-based team. This is a full-time role offering consistent hours and competitive pay for the right candidate.

About the Role As an Offsider, you will work alongside the driver and moving team to ensure furniture and household goods are moved safely, efficiently, and professionally. Every day is different, with work across residential homes and commercial offices. Days/Hours- are rostered between Monday and Sunday depends on the current work load

Key Responsibilities • Assist with loading and unloading furniture, household goods, and cartons safely and efficiently • Pack, wrap, and protect items using blankets, straps, shrink wrap, and packing materials to prevent damage • Move items into and out of homes/offices, including stairs and tight access areas • Support the driver/lead mover with job preparation, vehicle loading order, and safe unloading • Assemble and disassemble basic furniture (beds, tables, shelving) as required • Follow Health & Safety procedures and safe manual handling techniques at all times • Safely use moving equipment (trolleys, dollies, straps, ramps) • Keep the truck and work areas clean and tidy • Provide polite, professional customer service on-site • Complete basic paperwork and checklists (delivery notes, damage reports, time sheets)

What We’re Looking For • Full Class 1 driver licence (required) • Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting • Reliable, punctual, and hardworking • Good communication skills and positive attitude • Ability to work well in a team environment • No work experience or qualifications required — full training will be provided • Physically fit and able to lift/carry items as part of a team • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions • Able to work rostered hours and weekends when required
