A local employer based in Greerton are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Indian dressmaker/tailor with extensive experience in designing, tailoring, and customizing traditional Indian clothing. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of various Indian garments such as sarees, lehengas, salwar kameez, sherwanis, dupattas, and other ethnic wear. The candidate should possess excellent sewing skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to create beautifully finished garments that meet client specifications and high-quality standards. Key Responsibilities:

Take accurate measurements and interpret design requirements for Indian ethnic wear. Cut fabrics precisely according to patterns and client specifications. Sew and assemble garments with attention to detail, ensuring impeccable finish. Customize and alter clothing to fit perfectly and meet customer preferences. Work with a variety of fabrics, including silk, cotton, brocade, chiffon, and velvet. Collaborate with clients to understand their design preferences and provide expert advice. Ensure timely completion of garments without compromising quality. Maintain a clean and organized workspace and sewing tools. Stay updated with current trends and techniques in Indian clothing design and tailoring. Requirements:

Proven experience as a tailor/dressmaker specializing in Indian clothing (at least 3-5 years). Proficiency in hand sewing and machine sewing techniques. Strong knowledge of Indian fabrics, patterns, and embellishments. Ability to read and interpret design sketches and patterns. Excellent attention to detail and precision. Good communication skills and the ability to work with clients. Ability to work efficiently under deadlines. Experience with embroidery, beadwork, and other embellishments is a plus.
