We are seeking a motivated and reliable Trainee Carpet Fitter to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in flooring installation and gain hands-on experience across residential and commercial projects throughout Christchurch and Canterbury. You will work alongside experienced installers, learning the skills required to prepare sites, measure, cut, and install carpet and underlay to a high professional standard.

Key Responsibilities • Assist with preparing work areas, including protecting surfaces and moving materials and tools • Remove existing carpet and underlay • Assist with site preparation for new installations • Measure rooms and calculate materials required for carpet and underlay • Cut and fit underlay and carpet to measurements, including trimming edges and cutting around fixtures • Assist with laying carpet and matching patterns where required • Complete finishing work to a high standard • Install edge trims and transition strips in doorways • Load and unload materials and equipment • Maintain a clean and safe worksite at all times • Follow all health and safety procedures • Travel to job sites across Christchurch and wider Canterbury region as rostered

-Relevant experience / skills in this work -Pass an MO check + Dug Testing
