Driver / Operator – Drainage & Hydro Excavation

Are you an experienced Class 2 to 4 Driver looking for a hands-on role with real variety? We’re looking for a reliable, safety-focused Driver / Operator to join our growing team, working across drainage and hydro excavation projects throughout Auckland and Hamilton.

This is more than just driving, you’ll be operating hydrovac equipment, supporting infrastructure projects, and working as part of a professional crew delivering high-quality results. Full training will be provided on the drainage and hydro excavation aspects of the role.

You’ll be responsible for: • Driving Class 2 to 4 vehicles to transport equipment to job sites. • Operating hydrovac and related excavation machinery. • Completing pre- and post-trip inspections and routine vehicle maintenance. • Accurately completing job documentation and digital timesheets. • Recording materials used and managing disposal documentation. • Maintaining strong, professional relationships with clients on-site. • Supporting and guiding Hydrovac Labourers when required. • Ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Bring • Current Class 2, 3 or 4 Driver’s Licence essential. • Must have at least 6 months experience driving large vehicles. • Physically fit and strong. • Experience in construction, civil, drainage or similar industry preferred. • Strong safety mindset and attention to detail. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Professional communication skills. • Comfortable working flexible hours and travelling between sites. • Experience using digital systems for timesheets/reporting. • Ability to pass a Ministry of Justice check and Drug & Alcohol test. • NZ Resident or Australian/NZ Citizen.
