Structural Steel Fabricator (Steel Fixers)

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Structural Steel Fabricator (Steel Fixer) to join our team. This role involves the safe and accurate fabrication of reinforcing steel components to meet project specifications and deadlines. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to read technical drawings, and a commitment to workplace safety and quality control.

Key Responsibilities: • Safely handle straight and pre-bent reinforcing steel. • Tie reinforcing steel cages and complete related steel fixing tasks as directed. • Read, interpret, and accurately follow layout drawings, production detail sheets, and specifications. • Install straight and pre-bent reinforcing steel in line with project timeframes. • Accurately cut, bend, and shear reinforcing steel using hand tools or CNC bending and cutting machinery. • Conduct regular safety checks to ensure all hand tools and machinery are in good working order. • Monitor and ensure raw materials and packaging supplies are consistently available. • Maintain a strong focus on quality control to ensure all fabricated products meet required standards. • Assist with loading trucks for dispatch when required.

-Minimum 1 Year experience in Steel Placing -Excellent work ethic with a positive attitude -High drive to be successful and willing to go that extra mile -Willing to undertake a pre-employment medical test / drug testing if successful -Ability to read and understand detailing and constructions plans/drawings -Gantry, forklift, driver license and/or First Aid certificates desirable -Reliable and honest -Good written and oral communication skills -Good knowledge of OHS -Site Safe accreditation preferred
