Mechanic's Assistant

We are on the lookout for a great Mechanics Assistant in Miramar who wants to level up their skills in this full time role.

You would be assisting with day-to-day vehicle servicing and maintenance tasks where duties include: preparing vehicles for inspection and repair, removing and refitting components, changing oil and filters, assisting with brake and suspension work, carrying out basic vehicle checks, cleaning and organising tools and equipment, maintaining workshop cleanliness and safety, and supporting general workshop operations as directed.

From time to time, the employee may also be required to drive the company shuttle to and from the airport to assist with operational requirements, and undertake other ad hoc duties as reasonably required.

Applicants must meet one of the following: - At least 2 years recent hands-on workshop experience assisting with vehicle servicing and maintenance; OR - Completion of automotive pre-trade training, NZ Certificate in Automotive Engineering Level 3, apprenticeship-level study, or equivalent overseas automotive qualification. - A Full Class 1 driver licence held for at least 2 years is also required

Sound knowledge of vehicle servicing and routine maintenance. Ability to carry out brake work, suspension repairs, oil and filter changes. Competent use of workshop tools and equipment. Strong understanding of workplace health and safety. Good problem-solving ability and time management skills.
