Quality Control: Selecting fruit that meets specific size, color, and ripeness standards set by supervisors and quality controllers. Teamwork and Instruction: Working efficiently as part of a team and following clear instructions and procedures from supervisors. Safety Adherence: Following all health and safety procedures, especially when working around moving machinery like tractors. General Orchard Work: Depending on the specific job, other duties such as general plant maintenance, leaf plucking, or thinning may also be involved.

Physical Fitness: A good to high level of physical fitness and stamina is essential, as the work involves standing for long periods, carrying heavy loads while walking and working above shoulder height. Outdoor Work: The job is outdoors and weather-dependent, meaning work schedules can sometimes be irregular. Pickers are expected to work in various weather conditions, though picking generally only takes place in dry conditions.
