Kiwifruit Harvest Orchard Worker

The harvest season is nearly here and this contractor is looking for pickers to join their company teams for harvest season, on a fixed term basis. Daily Tasks Involved in the role: Carrying Picking Bag on Shoulders and collecting all the fruit of the vines and then emptying into Bins provided. So you will be carrying picking bag all day on your shoulders and picking fruit. You will need to be physically fit and like working outdoors. You will be working with arms at shoulder height and some times above shoulders due to fruit being slightly higher then eye levels, for example fruit in the leaders of the vines maybe be little higher then should levels and will be standing for long periods of time over the course of a day. You would also do a lot of reaching up and picking the fruit down to your picking bag at chest level . The job is physical so applicants MUST be physically fit and healthy. You must be able to follow instructions and be reliable. All staff work in teams so being a team player is a must along with being able to work with a team from diverse cultures/backgrounds. We operate on many different orchards in the Edgecumbe/Te Puke/Paengaroa/Maketu/Pukehina/Lower Kaimai’s & Katikati areas and no two days will be the same. Work is weather dependant as we cannot operate in the rain due to staff Health and Safety. Experience is not necessary as full on the job training will be given with tools provided if required.
