Seeking Qualified Carpenters – Residential Work (Auckland-wide) We are seeking qualified carpenters for residential work across Auckland. If you do not hold a formal qualification but have extensive experience in residential carpentry, we welcome your application. You will be responsible for carrying out high-quality carpentry work while leading, supervising, and coordinating a small team to ensure residential construction projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and supervise a team of typically 4–6 staff • Allocate daily tasks and manage workflow on site • Read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and council-approved plans • Accurately set out work and ensure correct levels, plumb, and alignment • Carry out and oversee framing, flooring, roofing, and structural carpentry • Install doors, windows, cladding, decking, internal fit-outs, and finishing work • Ensure all work complies with the NZ Building Code, consent requirements, and company standards • Monitor quality control and promptly rectify defects • Coordinate with site managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and inspectors • Train, mentor, and support apprentices and junior team members • Enforce Health & Safety policies, conduct toolbox talks, and complete site inductions • Identify hazards and ensure the safe use of tools and equipment • Manage materials and deliveries while minimising waste • Maintain a clean, organised, and professional worksite • Track progress against schedules and report delays or issues to management • Assist with problem-solving and on-site decision-making • Communicate effectively with clients when required • Complete basic site documentation and daily reports as required This is a permanent, full-time position with long-term work available. • Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand • Full New Zealand driver’s licence and own transport • Able to pass pre-employment checks (including a medical, if required), a drug test, and a Ministry of Justice (MOJ) check • Minimum of 3+ years’ residential carpentry experience • Proven experience in a Leading Hand or supervisory carpenter role • Strong leadership and communication skills • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks • Sound knowledge of New Zealand construction practices and standards
