We are looking for fit, reliable individuals who are keen to be part of our Orchard Quality Control team in Appleby.
This role will be a fixed term contract from approx. early March 2026 through to approx. early-May 2026, depending on harvest maturity. For those interested in progressing their horticulture career, this role can also be a valuable step toward long term opportunities in the industry.
As a QC, you will be responsible for ensuring that our apples meet the highest standards of quality. This role requires some physical activity, including reaching, bending, and lifting, so a moderate level of physical fitness is required. But don’t worry, our knowledgeable team will provide you with all the training you need to succeed.
Job Requirements
What you will need:
• Previous experience is preferred but not essential as full training is provided • Positive "can-do" attitude, a strong work ethic, punctual and organised • Flexibility to work extended hours • Excellent teamwork skills and ability to work with individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds • Willing to work in all weather conditions to ensure that our apples are inspected • Your own reliable transport to and from the job locations • Competent on a tablet or phone (which is provided) to record data throughout the day • You must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
