Dairy Farm Assistant

We are looking for a Dairy Farm Assistant located on the outskirts of Morrinsville Township. The farm comprises 200 hectares and they are milking 570 cows in a Rotary Shed (60 bail).

Key Responsibilities: • Assist with feed planning and pasture management • Weed and pest control, fertilizer application, and irrigation support • Ensure efficient milking operations, including plant hygiene and somatic cell count management • Operate and maintain the effluent system in compliance with regional council and farm standards, including record keeping • Implement and support animal health programmes • Assist with calving, wintering, and calf rearing to minimise losses and produce quality replacements • Maintain accurate herd records and report animal health issues • Work with the Dairy Farm Manager to support the Farm Business Plan • Assist with repairs and maintenance of farm plant, machinery, and infrastructure

• Physically fit and willing to learn. • Must pass pre-employment drug test and have no criminal record. • Not required to have experience in the dairy shed, or with pasture-based farming as this is an entry level role and the employer is willing to provide necessary training. • Must have a driver licence. Minimum of a restricted licence and own transport Employee housing is provided on-site, and applicants must reside in the farm accommodation.
