Roofing Labourer

A roofing labourer supports roofers by preparing materials, assisting with installation, and keeping the worksite safe and organized. Their duties are mainly hands-on and physically demanding.

Typical duties of a roofing labourer include: • Carrying and lifting roofing materials such as tiles, metal sheets, shingles, and tools • Assisting roofers with installing, repairing, or replacing roofs • Removing old roofing materials and disposing of debris safely • Loading and unloading trucks and organizing supplies on site • Setting up ladders, scaffolding, and safety equipment • Mixing and applying roofing compounds, sealants, or adhesives • Measuring and cutting materials under supervision • Keeping the worksite clean and free of hazards • Following health and safety rules, including working at heights • Supporting team members with general labouring tasks as required

Key skills and requirements: • Physical fitness and ability to work at heights • Good balance and awareness of safety risks • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions • Basic tool-handling skills (training often provided) • Honest and reliable • Have strong communication skills • Pass a drug Test • MOJ - convictions considered on a case by case basis • Have own vehicle and a restricted licence at the least
