Location: Bay of Plenty region (Tauranga, Rotorua, Taupo, Putaruru, Hamilton) Job Type: Full-time Positions Available: 2 Hours: Minimum 32 hours per week Work Schedule: 7 days a week, 8:00am – 5:00pm Pay Rate: $27.00 – $29.00 per hour (hourly) Start Date: 9 April 2026

Job Description We are seeking reliable and experienced Plumber’s Assistants / Labourers to support plumbing operations across residential and commercial sites in the Bay of Plenty region. This is a hands-on role requiring physical work, attention to safety, and the ability to work well as part of a team under the direction of qualified plumbers.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: - Prepare work areas by unloading tools and organising materials for daily tasks - Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly job site at all times - Assist with digging, lifting, carrying, and general labouring duties - Set up protective coverings, barriers, and safety signage - Support plumbers with installation of pipes, fixtures, valves, and fittings - Measure, cut, and prepare pipes under supervision - Hold, position, and stabilise materials during installation work - Assist with installing brackets, clips, insulation, and supports - Remove old or damaged components as directed - Apply sealants, tighten fittings, and complete basic plumbing tasks under supervision - Provide hands-on support during maintenance and service calls - Load, unload, clean, and store tools and equipment daily - Maintain vehicles and tool storage areas in an organised condition - Monitor material levels and report shortages to the supervising plumber - Ensure tools and equipment are used safely and correctly

Essential Requirements: - Minimum 2–4 years’ experience in a similar plumbing assistant or labouring role - High school or college qualification - Full Class 1 driver licence - Basic knowledge of plumbing materials, fittings, and tools - Experience working on residential and/or commercial job sites - Physically fit and able to perform manual labour - Safety-conscious with strong awareness of workplace hazards - Able to work in varying weather conditions and environments - Honest, dependable, and able to represent the business professionally

Additional Requirements: - Motivated to develop skills and progress within the plumbing trade - Willingness to follow instructions and work under supervision - Ability to work flexible days, including weekends if required - Pre-employment drug test required - Ministry of Justice check required
