About this job

Seeking two Lead Teachers to provide academic and cultural leadership for the Ministry of Education funded Talanoa Ako programme in Penrose. These roles lead the delivery of parent workshops and NCEA learner support while mentoring Supporting Teachers and ensuring programme quality and compliance and cultural integrity.

This role suits experienced NZ Registered Teachers who enjoy leading others and working closely with Pacific families and learners. Key Responsibilities o Lead delivery of 10 Talanoa Ako parent workshops per programme year o Deliver 20 hours of high-quality NCEA tutoring to Pacific learners o Provide academic leadership and mentor Supporting Teachers o Embed Taulanga U values across all delivery o Ensure teaching quality and consistency and accurate reporting to the Ministry of Education o Support attendance tracking, surveys, credit tracking, and milestone reporting

Essential Requirements o Current NZ Teaching Registration preferred o Demonstrated NCEA teaching experience o Experience working with Pacific learners and/or families o Ability to meet Ministry of Education compliance and reporting requirements o Ability to deliver the Talanoa Ako after school.

Job Requirements

Police Vetting Requirement • A current NZ Police Vet is required • Where Teaching Registration has expired, a Police Vet completed within the last 2 months will be accepted while registration is being renewed or finalised Eligibility • Legal entitlement to work in Aotearoa New Zealand Demonstrated NCEA teaching experience • Experience working with Pacific learners and/or families • Ability to meet Ministry of Education compliance and reporting requirements • Ability to deliver the Talanoa Ako after school.
