Butchery Assistant

We are currently looking for a reliable and motivated Butchery Department Assistant to join our busy and productive Supermarket team in Hokitika. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in presentation, and wants to be part of a supportive team environment. A qualified butcher would be an advantage, but it is not essential — training will be provided for the right person. Key Responsibilities: Assisting with daily butchery operations, preparing, packaging, and displaying meat products to a high standard. Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work area, following strict food safety and hygiene standards at all times. Supporting the butchery team to meet customer demand and quality expectations.

You must be; Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic, motivated and willing to learn, good attention to detail and pride in presentation, an understanding of food safety standards (or willingness to learn). Candidates must be able to pass all pre-employment health and safety checks.
