We’re after a confident, experienced Administrator who works fast, likes computers, communicates clearly, and keeps their cool when things get busy.
The employer is a well-respected Wellington secondary school with over 130 years of history—so they take doing things properly very seriously.
This role is central to keeping the school running smoothly and includes:
Organising relief teachers when staff are away (planned or last-minute—life happens)
Processing teacher payroll accurately and on time
Providing high-quality administrative support to staff
Building positive working relationships with permanent and relieving teachers
Full training is provided, so you won’t be thrown in the deep end. You’ll also have your own office, plus a mobile phone and laptop—everything you need to do the job well.
Hours: Some flexibility is available; however, early starts are essential (between 7:30–8:00am), either onsite or remotely, to ensure relief teachers are organised before the school day begins.

Job Requirements
To Be Considered, You’ll Bring:
A minimum of three years’ recent, hands-on administration experience in an Administrator role—this is essential, and you’re confident managing the demands of a busy office
Strong communication and people skills—you’re professional, approachable, and comfortable dealing with stakeholders at all levels
A positive, polished presence that reflects well on the organisation and puts others at ease
Proven adaptability and flexibility, with the ability to learn quickly and juggle changing priorities
Exposure to payroll and/or finance processes is an advantage, but not essential—we value willingness to learn just as much
