Road Traffic Controller

A New Plymouth–based traffic management company is seeking 6 casual Traffic Control Workers, with the opportunity to move into full-time work for the right people.

About the role Your primary responsibility will be to help ensure the safe and efficient flow of traffic at road construction sites, events, and other locations requiring traffic control. This is an outdoor, hands-on role that involves standing for extended periods and working in all weather conditions. Part of the role will include placing cones while harnessed to a slow-moving truck, so confidence working around traffic and machinery is essential.

Hours & roster • Rostered across 7 days • Start times from 5am • 10–12 hour shifts • Early starts, late finishes, nights, and weekends required

What we’re looking for • Minimum restricted driver licence (full licence will gain you more hours) • Mature, reliable attitude • Physically fit and comfortable standing for long periods • Flexible and able to work various shifts and conditions • Strong communication skills • Able to follow health & safety requirements at all times • Drug and alcohol free • Smoke-free environment (no smoking or vaping on site)
