A global provider of Ground Handling and Cargo Handling services is seeking an experienced Baggage Duty Manager to join its Airside operations team.
About the Role This is an exciting opportunity for a confident, people-focused leader with strong operational experience in airport environments. As Baggage Duty Manager, you will provide overall leadership and supervision of the Baggage Makeup (Bag Room) team, ensuring baggage operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with company, airline, and regulatory requirements. A hands-on leadership style, strong decision-making skills, and a safety-first mindset are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities • Lead and supervise daily Baggage Makeup operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and on-time performance • Liaise with customer airlines regarding stock management and ULD-related matters • Ensure all company, customer, and airline regulations, procedures, and operational standards are met • Oversee daily resourcing requirements to ensure operational demands are effectively met • Maintain clear communication with all internal departments and remain informed of operational updates and changes • Manage team performance to improve service delivery, enhance quality, and support cost efficiencies • Proactively resolve operational challenges arising during day-to-day activities • Respond to staff enquiries relating to rosters, leave, payroll, and general HR matters

Job Requirements
• Must be a New Zealand Citizen or New Zealand Permanent Resident • Clean criminal history • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in airport operations, including baggage handling or ramp operations • Strong planning, analytical, and communication skills • Proven ability to coach and support staff, maintain team morale, and drive operational excellence • Flexible to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays • Holds a full New Zealand Driver Licence with own reliable transport • Able to successfully pass all pre-employment checks (Drug test)
