Duty Managers

A busy Wainuiomata retail business is on the lookout for Duty Managers to help keep things running smoothly (and customers smiling).

What you’ll be doing:

• Supporting management with the coordination, supervision, and day-to-day operations of the store • Creating a great shopping experience for customers while staying on the right side of the Sale & Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 (rules matter!) • Delivering friendly, helpful customer service — because no one likes grumpy shopping • Keeping the store looking sharp through effective merchandising and promotional displays • Assisting with inventory management, monitoring stock levels, and liaising with suppliers so shelves stay full • Helping with marketing initiatives, store promotions, and advertising activities • Supporting rostering, cash handling, budgeting, and health & safety compliance • Maintaining high store standards, including cleanliness, hygiene, and general upkeep • Contributing to sales targets and overall company KPIs (team wins count!) • Opening and closing the store as required — keys included • Selling liquor and other store products to customers in a responsible and professional manner

What we’re looking for:

• Previous relevant experience is preferred, but not essential — attitude goes a long way • An LCQ (Licensing Controller Qualification) is a bonus (gold star if you have one ) • Willing and able to work rostered shifts • Available to work weekends — retail doesn’t always do Mondays to Fridays • Physically fit and comfortable being on your feet for most of the day • Confident leadership skills with a calm, can-do approach • Reliable, hardworking, and enthusiastic (energy appreciated!) • Able to juggle multiple tasks without dropping the ball • A strong team player who supports others and gets stuck in • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
