Hydro Excavation Operator

As a Hydro Excavation Operator, you’ll be out on site every day running high-pressure water and vacuum systems to safely uncover underground services and protect critical infrastructure. Think of it as “digging with precision”—but way cooler than your average shovel.

This is hands-on, fast-paced work where no two days are the same. You’ll be outdoors, part of a dependable crew that gets the job done, looks out for each other, and takes pride in doing things right (and yes, mud is basically part of the uniform).

No hydro experience? No problem! If you have the right attitude and a Class 2 licence, we’ll provide full training and support to get you confidently up to speed.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Operating a Hydro-Excavation Truck

Digging safely using water and vacuum systems

Locating and exposing underground services

Assisting with trenching and site clean-up

Disposing of soil and debris

Carrying out daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance

Following all health and safety procedures (because safety first!)

What We’re Looking For:

A full, clean Class 2 licence (your ticket to the driver’s seat!)

Good physical fitness and a strong work ethic—you’ll be on your feet and ready to get stuck in

A practical, can-do attitude and willingness to learn (we love enthusiasm almost as much as coffee)

Reliable—we count on you, and your crew will too

Clear communication skills—because teamwork makes the dream work

Civil or hydro excavation experience is a bonus, but not essential (we can teach you the ropes)

Ability to pass a Ministry of Justice (MOJ) check

Ability to pass a drug test
