About this job

The kiwifruit harvest season is due to commence March 2026.

As a Tractor Driver, you will be responsible for: Transporting kiwifruit bins to the loadout pad when the bins are full, and to within the orchard to the pickers when they have been emptied Completing daily prestart inspection checks and sending completed documents to Management Assisting in the daily site set up and health & safety protocols, in conjunction with the Supervisor/Manager Assisting the Quality Control (QC) with bin management tasks, such as sweeping bays; removing rejects; and explosive fruit Adhering to all audit and quality standards, as per Company policies and procedures Adhering to Health & Safety policies and procedures, and the Standard Operating procedure of tractor driving Maintaining a positive and communicative work environment Reporting any site hazards, or fruit quality issues to BKC Management immediately Communicating any faults or equipment issues with Management immediately Ensuring team is not working overtop of tractor (always between one and two bays ahead of the team) Communicating with the team and others on the orchard, to ensure safe working distances are maintained during machinery movement Maintaining a tidy work environment and leaving no rubbish in the orchard Cleaning and maintaining cleanliness of the equipment (tractor and tools) Ensure all Hygiene rules and procedures are followed Ensure all Packhouse audit rules and criteria are met and maintained Reporting any incidents, near misses, or hazards to Site Manager/Supervisor to ensure they are communicated with the team in the daily toolbox meetings

Work is in Te Puke, Paengaroa, Pongakawa and surrounding areas. Itis a fixed term position

You will require accommodation within daily travel of the work.

Job Requirements

Able to pass a pre-employment drug test Driver's license - Reliable Transport Able to pass a Ministry of Justice check Physically fit Competent in driving kiwifruit orchard tractors Minimum 1 year experience in the kiwifruit industry with excellent knowledge of kiwifruit harvest practices.

Monday – Sunday 7am – 7pm - up to 45 hours per week, weather dependent (30 hours per week)

$27 - $30 per hour depending on experience
