Class 4 Driver

We are a well-established metal recycling business looking for a Class 4 Driver to join our team. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role suited to someone reliable, safety-focused, and comfortable working with customers.

This position combines driving with yard work, customer interaction, and cash handling.

Job Description As a Class 4 Driver, you will be responsible for transporting scrap metal and related materials, as well as assisting with daily recycling operations. The role involves regular customer contact and requires accuracy when handling weights, measurements, and payments.

Key responsibilities include: - Operating Class 4 vehicles for collection and transport of recyclable materials - Assisting with loading and unloading materials (physical work required) - Interacting with customers in a professional and friendly manner - Handling cash and processing customer transactions - Accurately recording weights, measurements, and materials - Maintaining vehicle and equipment safety standards - Supporting yard operations as required

- Current Class 4 driver’s licence (essential) - Dangerous Goods (DG) endorsement preferred - Forklift licence preferred - Physically fit and capable of manual handling - Strong customer service, sales, and interpersonal skills - Good basic math skills, including weights and measurements - Criminal convictions considered on a case-by-case basis (MOJ check required) - Must pass a pre-employment drug test (ongoing testing may apply)
