Cleaning Supervisor

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Cleaning Supervisor to join our team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in their work, and wants to grow with a company long-term.

This role involves supervising cleaning staff while also being actively involved in cleaning across a range of sites, including schools and commercial buildings. No two evenings are exactly the same, so confidence, flexibility, and a strong work ethic are essential.

Hours & Location • Approximately 25–30 hours per week • Work is mainly evenings, starting from around 3:00pm onwards • Evening cleans typically commence from 6:00pm • Some morning work may also be required • Sites are spread across Christchurch and North Canterbury • Occasional split shifts, weekend work, or public holidays may be required

About the Role In this position, you will: • Supervise and support cleaning staff to ensure high standards are maintained • Coordinate daily cleaning tasks and schedules • Check work areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and quality standards are met • Provide guidance and on-the-job support to team members • Be hands-on with cleaning, including more detailed or intensive tasks when needed • Move between different sites, adapting to different buildings and requirements • Unset and reset alarms and ensure buildings are secure • Identify hazards and report any issues promptly • Support onboarding of new staff when required

Requirements • Full NZ Class 1 driver’s licence and access to a car • No criminal record • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English • Physically able to carry out cleaning duties • Comfortable using cleaning equipment and supplies safely • Able to work well with others and maintain positive relationships with clients and team members
