Tradesperson - Senior Welder/Fabricator

Based at Rakaia since 1966, this a family owned business, involved in the design, building, installation and servicing of robust farm machinery, especially heavy water - ballast land rollers and full engineered dairy effluent systems trusted by farmers across New Zealand and exported to markets like Australia, Brazil, Chile, the UK and the UAE.
We are looking for a Senior Welder Fabricator to join our team. In this position, you will manufacture and assemble new equipment in our workshop, and from time to time head out for field repairs and maintenance and carry out general repairs and maintenance in the field.
You will work across steel fabrication and welding, contributing to the production of proven agricultural machinery - from heavy land rollers to components within dairy effluent systems.

Job Requirements
• Strong mechanical mind and practical ability, with excellent welding-skills and ability to read technical drawings. •Solid previous working experience in steel welding, fabrications and repairs, preferably in the agricultural industry. • Full driver's licence and forklift endorsement would be an advantage. • Physical fitness and agility, and capable of heavy-lifting. • Flexibility to work extra hours as required to get the job done. • Good communication skills and a team player. • Has worked in the field of water, irrigation, or effluent • May suit someone who has a plumbing or irrigation background • Full Class 1 & Forks advantage • Able to work in the field or a workshop • Would pass a drugs test • Would pass a MOJ check • We offer competitive wages with overtime rates and opportunities for personal advancement
