Service Assistant Technician

An East Tamaki–based employer is seeking a reliable and motivated Service Assistant Technician to join their team. This role involves the maintenance, repair, and installation of fitness equipment within gym environments, ensuring all equipment is safe, functional, and compliant with operational standards. The position also includes assisting with equipment deliveries and on-site installations.

Key Responsibilities • Maintain, service, and repair gym and fitness equipment • Assist with delivery and installation of equipment at client sites • Ensure all equipment is safe and fully operational • Provide professional and courteous customer service • Accurately follow safety and operational procedures

Training • Full training will be provided to the successful candidate

• Previous experience in machinery repair and maintenance (entry-level: 6 months–2 years) • Physically fit and capable of performing manual and physically demanding work • Mechanically minded with experience using hand tools • Good communication and customer service skills • Holds a full Class 1 driver licence and able to drive a manual vehicle • Owns reliable transport • Able to pass a drug test, credit check, and Ministry of Justice (MOJ) check • Contactable work references • Consistent employment history

Desirable Skills • Background in gyms or fitness equipment servicing • Knowledge of fitness or gym equipment
